The CHUS: one hospital centre, two facilities The CHUS offers a range of treatment and services in two hospitals, the Fleurimont Hospital and Hôtel-Dieu, situated in the heart of Sherbrooke.

There are 682 set-up beds, including 20 neonatal incubators. These beds are divided in the two hospitals as follows:

• Medicine and surgery: 435
• Intensive and intermediate care: 62
• Pediatrics: 30
• Mother-baby: 30
• Psychiatry: 105
• Neonatalogy: 20
  

A Double Vocation

The CHUS is the fourth largest hospiyal in Quebec and the only one to play a doble role as university teaching hospital and regional hospital. It also plays an important supra-regional role, as the referral centre for ultra-specialized services, primarily for people living in the Centre-du-Québec and Montérégie administrative regions.

The CHUS is the largest hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the Université de Sherbrooke. Nowhere else in Quebec is there such a solid association between a hospital and a medical faculty. The Faculty of Medicine and the Fleurimont Hospital share, under the same roof, something quite unique in Canada.

Clinical Research Centre

The Centre for Clinical Research This centre develop and supports health research in various dimensions: clinical, fundamental, epidemiological and evaluative. The Centre for Clinical Researchalso maintains close ties with the biomedical industry. More than 90 researchers work there, with some twenty masters, doctoral and post-doctoral students. The Centre for Clinical Researcg receives funding from the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (the provinicial government funding agency for health research).

To go to the CHUS - Hôtel-Dieu Hospital

Leaving Montréal via the Eastern Townships Autoroute (10 - 55), take exit 143. You will be on Autoroute 610.
Take exit 3, then turn left on Boulevard Saint-François Nord, going towards Sherbrooke.
After the bridge over the Saint-Francis River (pont St-François), turn left on Jubilee Street, then right on Bowen Sud.
The Hôtel-Dieu is located at 580 Bowen South, on the left side of the road.

Leaving Quebec City via autoroute 55, take exit 143. You will be on Autoroute 610.
Then take exit 3, then turn left on Boulevard Saint-François Nord, going towards Sherbrooke.
After crossing the St. Francis Bridge (pont Saint-François), turn left on Jubilee Street, then right on Bowen Sud.
The Hôtel-Dieu is located at 580 Bowen South, on the left side of the road.

To go to the CHUS - Fleurimont Hospital

Leaving Montréal via the Eastern Townships Autoroute (10 - 55), take exit 143. You will be on Autoroute 610. 
Then take exit 7. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left on Rte 216.
The Fleurimont Hospital is located about 2 km away.

Leaving Quebec City via autoroute 55, take exit 143. You will be on Autoroute 610.
Then take exit 7. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left on Rte 216.
The Fleurimont Hospital is located about 2 km away.
