The Health and Social Services Centre – University Institute of
Geriatrics of Sherbrooke is the new local authority for health and social
services. In continuity with services already provided by the Centre and the
Institute, the local authority notably provides access to health care and
social services to the Sherbrooke community.
The establishment provides health and social services of a preventive and
curative nature at home and in a health care setting, being also a hospital
centre providing general and specialized care in geriatrics,
psychogeriatrics and rehabilitation. The institution holds more than 760
beds in long-term care and its mission includes teaching, research as well
as the development and dissemination of expertise.
